Who is eligible for The Mary Lou Fletcher Scholarship?
All Hobbs High School graduating seniors are welcome to apply.
Does the scholarship focus on a specific area of study?
No. The scholarship is open to graduating seniors interested in pursuing a college education in any field.
Is there an application fee?
No. We do not solicit any fees.
Is a photo required?
We do not require a photo for the application. However, we encourage all recipients to send us a photo for our files.
How many scholarships are awarded each year?
At this time, The Mary Lou Fletcher Scholarship is awarded once a year.
What is the deadline for applications?
The deadline for the 2007 Scholarship is March 30, 2007. Look for information regarding the deadline for the 2007 scholarship application in February, 2007.
How do I apply?
You must apply online through this web site. Click on the “Scholarship Application” link to fill out an application.
How will I know that my application was received?
You will receive a confirmation through your email.
How will I know to whom the scholarship was awarded?
The recipient and Hobbs High School administration will be contacted via phone call. The recipient will also be announced on this web site.
Who decides to whom the scholarship is awarded?
Our scholarship board reads and reviews all applications and makes a decision based on the applicants’ answers, performance at Hobbs High School and extra-curricular activities.
How is the scholarship money delivered to the recipient?
Scholarship funds will be sent directly to the recipient’s university to be applied to that student’s fees, once a semester for the first two semesters of the recipient’s primary year at college.
How do I donate to the scholarship?
Donating is quite easy. Simply click on the “Alumni and Friends” link on any page. There you’ll find a button which reads “Make a Donation.” Through PayPal, you’ll be able to securely donate directly from your credit card or bank account.
